What were we trying to accomplish by amplifying this region of DNA from the nuclear genome? Why do we care if our class is in Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium? More generally, why do we care if any population is in Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium? 2. Methods: You do not need to rewrite everything you did step by step. But you should give a general overview of the techniques you used.
For example, rather than stating step by step the DNA extraction process, you could say something like ‘We extracted our DNA from cheek cells using proteins K digestion and a silica spin column”.If you deviated from the protocols given to you in class you must state hat you did differently. For example, if you accidentally pipettes 2 Pl of pro K instead of 20 Pl and then added additional pro K to compensate for this error, state it in the Methods section. The Methods section should include everything from the DNA extraction to the XX analysis. 3. Results: This is the section where expect you to be the most detailed. What did your gels show? Did every PC reaction work? What did your negative controls show? Did you use your own data or data provided by Proof.
Adolescences?What were your frequencies for the 100 BP allele and the 400 BP allele? How did you arrive at these estimates? What were your expected/observed absolute and relative frequencies of all three genotypes? What were your XX and p-values? This section should be where you report what you actually observed and/or calculated: your results. You should not report any interpretation of these results in this section. 4. Discussion: This is the section where you should discuss the interpretation of your results. Was the class is Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium? If so, what does that mean? If not, why do you think the class is not in equilibrium?Do you think the class is representative of all humans? If anything did not work (like a failed PC reaction), why do you think it didn’t work? Note: general, ambiguous answers like “human error” or ‘technical error” are not acceptable. How do you think your results may change if you used a different locus (one that codes for an amino acid sequence for example)? 5. General notes: Please make sure to properly cite any outside resource you use.

There is not a specific length requirement. Just take as long as you need to explain your ideas. If you can write concisely and address all of the points listed above, then that’s great! Reports must be typed or computer- printed, and please use 12 point font and single line spacing.
