It can serve to increase power, and it can serve toprevent abuse of power; Education is a tool. With proper critical thinking,people are more likely to make effective decisions to prevent disadvantageouspolitical resolutions such as totalitarianism.Whatis the outcome of an educated citizenry?An educated citizenry can play a crucial role in ensuringthat power abuse is lessened. On the other hand, education can provide saidindividuals power, which they can choose to abuse. The story told in the book Animal farm, written byGeorge Orwell, is a quintessential example of this; the pigs gain all the powerin the farm because they are literate, therefore they are more educated thanthe other animals.
