As he had his early Education in a Native Authority school at Job, and obtained his standard six certificates in 1946, he was also employed as a teacher in a village school called Cheekbone in Burt Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria. Being a teacher, he bore his immediate father’s name from the primary school. He was the first child of Torture that attended primary school in 1940 at Job.He taught in a privately owned primary school at Cheekbone from 1947-48. Both his Junior brothers and sisters, who attended various schools by that time and thereafter began to bear the name Torture. The only primary school at Job by then, was established or found 1933, and Chief Kari Torture attended this school as early as 1940. He was They were immediately employed as teachers because the white Europeans wanted to open schools in the villages in order to educate the people in the rural areas.The name Torture was popularized by the Early Education of Chief Kari Torture, who first registered the name with the authorities of the native Authority School at Job.
