Not everybody believes in genocides, other may have a different opinion or thoughts. Sometimes people don’t realize its genocide because they believe in what they are doing and they think there is no harm done because it’s not affecting them. To be taken away from your family, to go live somewhere else or to be killed can have a huge impact on your life. Genocides play a huge role in the world; it has and will affect many people. In Darfur there is a genocide going on, it has been going on for a few decades now. Genocide is the mass killing of a race. The people of Darfur and the Government of Sudan didn’t really get along. The Government wanted to do oil exploration where the citizens lived. There was and still is a lot of tension between the government of Sudan and the people of Darfur. (Sudan Backgrounder, United to End Genocide) This genocide didn’t make much since to me at first, because I didn’t know why the people of Darfur didn’t leave. The genocide started in 1956, when war broke out, the genocide continued till July 2011, because South Sudan became their own country. The government had attacks on Darfur and Air Force bombings. There was mass of slaughtering and rape of men, women, and children. The tribe and citizens are targeted because the government got over thrown by a military and then the government forces bombed civilizes to facilitate exploitation. … for future references. As us citizens living in North America there is not much we can do except to keep helping the ones in need. Not all mass killings are bad; it all depends on ones prospective. Many may not believe or want to believe the truth, while other may just not understand.
