Bullying is a controversial issue, which occurs in all schools among dominant students and their victims. In fact, bullying and school violence are directed from bullies toward their hapless victims, and most often those bullies who show heightened aggression can be of two types. Students who engage in proactive aggression as means of obtaining certain goals, and the second type is reactive aggression where students respond aggressively to provocation or frustration; both types lack social skills, and may suffer from psychological problems, so students resort to exhibit aggression, and practice different forms of bullying on others. On the other hand, their hapless victims are immature, exhibit certain disabilities, shy where they lack self-confidence, and defenseless. However, physical aggression and violence is commonly shown among boys, and it includes hitting, shoving, pushing, and intimidating others, and all these lead to severe damage, body injury, and scars. Bullying leads to several short-term and long-term health complaints.
Ormrod, n.d. Educational Psychology. Aggression and Social Cognition (pp81-82). Due to physical stress, the victim shows drastic and serious illness and diseases, so it is no coincidence for a victim to suffer from a strong headache and other physical effects including stomachache, sleep problems, bodily injuries, bedwetting, in addition to muscle pain, digestive upset, weight changes, and problems regarding the heart, and the immune system.

Physical bullying takes no prisoners, so it can occur at any time, and in any place at the school where all students can be exposed to this kind of bullying. Therefore, physical bullying harms the victims harshly, and affect their physical wellbeing for the short term and the long term. Psychological effects of bullying Bullying leads the victim to suffer from serious psychological and emotional problems.
This widespread affair paves a difficult path for its victims. Bullies intend to hurt other’s feeling and emotions in various ways such as spreading rumors, ostracizing, embarrassing, rejecting, and it is most common among girls. Bullying is an issue that occurs in every part in school, in the playground where it is seen that a girl grabs her friend’s hair and spread funny rumors, or telling jokes on a fat kid in a cafeteria, or in the classroom where a group of children taunt a kid who is not clever. Moreover, a youngster who is exposed to emotional bullying will suffer from low self-confidence, and diminished self-esteem; and will feel defenseless and powerless, and his self-worth will be wounded, and destroyed. Bullies will disbelieve, and have doubts about their abilities in achieving certain goals in their education. Anxiety, depression, and loneliness are also tangible consequences of psychological violence that lead students to a serious illness, and have a long lasting effect. However, as a consequence of losing self-identity and confidence in one’s self the victim withdraw from engaging in social relationships with peers and friends where they feel that they are unacceptable, and unable to trust others.
In fact, when students suffer from bullying, they will have more tendency to be emotionally destroyed and withdrawn, and they will resort to spend the whole time alone, and live isolated in their own world. In addition to the psychological effects, academic achievement is also affected where bullies become afraid of going to school and of participating in classroom activities with their peers, and they become unable to focus and concentrate to the lessons in their class. Moreover, children’s school grades will become lower, and they may think of dropping out of school. However, emotional bullying has a long lasting effect on students than physical harm; bullies can be exposed to the risk of being antisocial and suffer from lifelong problems.
Bullying creates an atmosphere of fear, insecurity, and loneliness that will reduce in turn the student’s quality of education and their achievement. In fact bullying damages its victims emotionally where they become more liable to long lasting problems. It is difficult for victims to get out of the circle of bullying, so when they are under other’s control they do not find a way to remove themselves from this subversive problem. However, when bullying take place between the bully and his victim, the attempts that this latter takes to get rid of this problem are unsuccessful, and can make the situation even worse.
This conveys the importance of adult’s intervention and supervision to prevent the occurrence of this serious issue, and to stop it completely. Further, with respect to the bullies, teachers should give reasons why their behaviors are unacceptable, so that they focus on the hurt and damage their behaviors do to others emotionally and physically this is known as the process of induction. In addition, they should provide practice in recognizing others’ emotional state because bullies are poor judges of the harm they leave behind to others. Encouraging perspective taking, empathy, and engaging students in moral issues discussions will all lead bullies to quit bullying among students. Students who bully others suffer from psychological problems, so teachers also should provide guidance and discuss with them to know the cause of their bad behaviors. Ormrod, n.d.

On the other hand, with respect to the victim teachers and parents should encourage him to complain that he is being bullied at school as the first step, so they can increase the his self-confidence and bravery to face others, and strengthen them not to be an easy target so that they can build friendships, and demonstrate his own identity. Moreover, teachers can encourage all students to participate in cooperative activities, and in different domains to express their abilities. Besides, they encourage them not to fear, cry, or feel upset in front of bullies, and encourage them to defend themselves, and help them foster their assertiveness skills. Eventually, it is so essential to know if students are bullied for their sake, so that parents and educators in one way or another develop directly specific strategies to prevent its occurrence or to stop and help if it has already taken place.
