A role model is someone who is worthy of being looked up to. This one individual can have a major impact on your life. My father, William Joseph Cooley, is my role model and is the most influential person in my life. My father possesses certain qualities that I admire, dearly.
He is hardworking, determined, kind-hearted, selfless, and loving. He displays important moral values and has taught me some of life’s greatest lessons. Throughout the years I have come to the realization that my father is a man who cares deeply for people and is not only concerned about his health and true, but worries about mine and the rest of my family’s as well.My father and I have an interesting, unique relationship.
I love it. I appreciate everything he does for our family. His sarcastic, funny humor never fails to make me laugh. Dad is forever present with words of encouragement and he rarely misses an opportunity to remind me that the next two years are very important and will have an impact on my future.
Having great grades in high school will enhance my stature with prospective colleges and possibly future employers. With great regularity we have conversations regarding my future and what it’ll take to be successful. He tells me on a daily basis that in order to become smarter I need to work hard and study hard. His mantra has always been that school is meant to be challenging and if I work hard now, it will all pay off in the end. By him telling me this, I realize that I need to take advantage of the opportunities that I am offered at the Orchard Park High School and be grateful for them. My father is an amazing man and what led my ad to where he is today was most definitely not laziness. He works for the US Marshals Service Violent Felony Task Force and owns his own tree business here in Orchard Park.
All of his success has come from determination, hard work and devotion. Not only does my dad offer me great advice about being a successful woman, but also about morals. To him, having good morals is Just as important as being successful. If you want to be respected you must be a well-behaved, respectful individual. My dad always told me, “If it were easy, everyone would do it”.
The inference is simple; people must work in order to be successful. It’s merely impossible to sit back and relax on a daily basis and stay in good shape. However, if someone works out, eats a healthy diet and maintains a healthy lifestyle, they are more likely to live a rewarding life. If all men and women were in agreement on all things, the world would be at peace. However, peace is difficult to accomplish because people are highly opinionated these days and seldom do they work hard toward achieving tolerance of others. If all men were geniuses, we’d be inundated with Doctors, Scientists and Lawyers.
The opposite is true. We generally lack these professionals, although some may argue we have enough Lawyers. We aren’t lacking the raw talent.
Rather, we are lacking the people motivated to strive to outrun the competition and achieve their lofty goals. Ultimately, my dad has continuously tried to enforce the fact that nothing in life comes easy. Everything worth anything requires hard work. One time I complained to my father about an arduous task he had assigned to me
