Africa and Arabia have one special type of hoofed animal called the oryx. To read more about this beautiful type of antelope, read this lesson!
How would you know an oryx if you saw one? An oryx is actually a specialized type of antelope. They have interesting stripes, a small head, and very long, straight horns. Oryx are light colored to help keep them cool in their hot climates, and they are always swishing their tail.
Male oryx will fight with their horns for dominance to be the leader, but they don’t really hurt each other. They don’t really lead the herd either.
They follow at the end while females take turns leading. Sounds like a gentleman.
