Microscope Introduction and Examination of Cells Abstract Cells are one of the smallest units of biological structure. Because they are so miniscule, it is impossible to see them with the human eye. The only way to view cells is by the help of a microscope.

A microscope was invented in order to make objects that are below the limit of resolution of the human eye visible. Microscopes are used to analyze and study different cell structures and cell behavior. In this lab, we used a light microscope and viewed cells in 3 types of signification, xx, 1 Ox and xx. We looked at cells with different objective lenses because the smaller the objective lenses is, the larger field view you have.

In this lab, we viewed Amoeba, Paramecium, Condescends, Volvo, Elodea, Cheek Cells, and a cell extracted from pond water with the help of a compound binocular light microscope. Introduction When looking at the different levels of biological organization, we see that cells are within the first few levels of hierarchy. The cell is considered to be the cost simplistic biological structure that possesses characteristics of the living condition.

Without cells, there would be no living organisms or biosphere for that matter. Because of the importance of cells to the environment and life itself, it is easily understood why scientist must continuously study and analyze cells. As said before, cells are one of the smallest units of life, think of the tip of a needle in retrospect to cell size. In order to see this extremely small structure, scientists utilize a microscope.

Microscopes use magnification in order to view the physical structure of a cell, which helps them understand how a cell works and reacts to other biological units.
