The Portsmouth Health Fair is free and open to the public.Pediatricians will be available to answer questions and stricter information about many child and adolescent health and safety topics, including healthy eating, injury prevention, and immunization. In addition, adult screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, vision, hearing, skin cancer, body strength, flexibility, and posture alignment will be available to the public free of charge. Portsmouth is easily accessible from all points in New England by car or bus, and from Boston by train. On Saturday, non- Portsmouth residents may park in permit-only areas provided they display a copy of the 2013 map on the dashboard.Emergency vehicle tours, massage workshops, nutrition counseling, and ATA chi demonstrations will be held throughout the day.
The famous children’s entertainer Adam Apple will perform on the PH stage at 1 p. M. Health fair maps will be available prior to the event at businesses and public libraries, and on the day of the event at Waterfront Park. Waterfront Park is bordered by College SST, Battery SST, and the harbor. PH 2013 receives funds from Fletcher Allen Hospital of New Hampshire, Portsmouth City Council, New England Healthy Kids, and the NIH, with valuable support from local businesses.
